Why become a member of Informatics Europe?

Computer scientists throughout Europe are confronting many of the same issues. By teaming up in Informatics Europe, CS and IT departments throughout the region have made the strategic decision to speak with a common voice. By becoming a member of Informatics Europe, your institution helps shape the future of informatics in Europe. In particular:

  • You and all members of your institution can participate in the working groups of Informatics Europe on such issues as curriculum definition, research evaluation, key facts and figures, lobbying and strategy.

  • You get to meet the people who are critical to the development of the discipline, such as department heads and other technology leaders.

  • You interact directly with your peers from all over the European region on the key issues of interest to the discipline and the profession.

  • You get instant access to information about what other institutions are doing, and invaluable arguments in discussions with university management, government authorities, funding bodies.

  • You get privileged access to technology news (through the weekly Informatics Europe Digest) and the ability to publicize your own events and initiatives.

  • You and all members of your institution receive a discount at Informatics Europe events, in particular the yearly European Computer Science Summit.

  • You show your support for our vibrant discipline and help it get its due place on the European scene.

Who can be a member?

Informatics Europe members are institutions (rather than individuals, who participate through their institutions). They include: departments of computer science, information technology, informatics (or similar topics) in universities; research laboratories (public or private); and industrial organizations interested in these topics, who have a status of "industrial associates".
